I have a few things I've noticed that I'll throw out in Hope's that maybe someone can piece this together!

1. I think there's something with the names in the story that's being missed. I dont know what haha, but they're too unique. Like how the grandparents Kathline and Willis are the same initials as Karen Wagner? Or they're all some anagram I can't figure out?

2. Donleg = Golden

3. I really think the line in the poem "before you decide to exit and rest" refers to an actual rest stop along the freeway, but that would mean the starting point is off?

4. I think gravity (even though its misspelled) and the line about trees looking like hay stacks from this point refers to a high place, like trees would just look like a pile of hay if you were looking down on them and dont take gravity lightly cause you can fall.

I dont know if any of this helps or it's all stupid, but I want to see the solution! -KaiAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08583057640914223222noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7242299175098401837.post-28294175505951483642019-04-02T19:29:56.670-04:002019-04-02T19:29:56.670-04:00You can contact me. ;)

I live in the Seattle area so almost no chance of me making it out there to look for the Golden Apple myself so I thought I'd give you my two cents.
First of all, nice solution! I think you're extremely close. I have a few suggestions to tweek your solution though.
1. Switch the "E" stanzas, I believe 11:52 means to take the highway 11 exit and continue west 5.2 miles and bring a shovel. This is kind of irrelevant though since it puts you right at the same place that your solution took you to. The other "E" stanza is where it matters most, with BOTG you will be looking for pine trees which will have the omphalos near or between them. since it says two feet down, I believe you'll have to dig that far under the stone.
2. Since you can't navigate by the stars in the rain and snow, you will need to navigate with a compass using the heading of the three brightest stars of Cassiopeia which I think is about 15deg (I'm not an astronomer so you'll have to check that.
3. I think your starting point should be the south end of Indian Mounds Dr. where it has a cul-de-sac round-a-bout. I'd look for a grouping of pine trees along that compass heading, but how far? That's gotta be in the last stanza. Anagrams? code words? Graviety and dimist were surely misspelled purposely.
Good luck!
